Additional Bodum New Kenya 12-Ounce Coffee Press, Black Information

The French press coffee maker is accepted worldwide as one of the best methods for brewing coffee and our New Kenya coffee press is sure to deliver not only gourmet coffee flavor, but modern design. The durable and heat-resistant glass beaker is partially encased by the black plastic frame of the New Kenya coffee maker. The frame covers a part of the sides and bottom of the beaker, making it safe for the tabletop without using a trivet or coaster. Simple to use, the French press is a proven method for brewing flavorful and balance coffee. Coffee is measured in 4 oz. cups, so our 3-cup press will brew 12 oz.; a single serving. The small size makes it great for the home or office, anytime you want just one cup of coffee. For best results, use coarse ground coffee. Just add the appropriate amount of ground coffee to the beaker (we recommend one 7 gram scoop per 4 oz. of water). Fill the beaker with hot water (just off of a boil). Leave about an inch from the top of the beaker. Give the coffee a stir with a plastic or wooden utensil to mix it completely with the water. Set the plunger and lid unit in place with the safety lid in the closed position. Allow the coffee to brew for 4-minutes and then press. Turn the safety lid to the open position, serve and enjoy. Clean up is easy too – just scoop out the grounds with a rubber spatula, and rinse the beaker and filter. There is no paper or additional filter required. The 3-part stainless steel filter system is built right into the press. The stay cool handle is built right into the sturdy New Kenya frame. All parts are dishwasher safe. The New Kenya is also available in 4, 6, and 8 cup sizes.

What Customers Say About Bodum New Kenya 12-Ounce Coffee Press, Black:

However, I will say that the plastic surrounding the glass container does not look as elegant in real-life as it does in the photos. Works fine, no real complaints here. Just sayin'

New improvements are excellent. Have used Bodum coffee press for years. A coffee press brews the best you'll find.

I recommend this product for anyone who loves one large fresh cup of coffee to start the day. I purchased the coffee press because I wanted a single serving cup for myself, no filters to buy and dispose of and have a very fresh cup of coffee in minutes. I'm very happy with my coffee press.

In any case, I've never had any trouble with regular coffee grounds. The instructions say to use "coarse" ground coffee, but I've never seen pre-ground coffee labeled coarse. I definitely would not use this for something like Mediterranean coffee, which is the only finely ground coffee that I am aware of.A word of warning - this press makes one regular size cup of coffee only. As a "one cup a day" coffee drinker, I had been microwave brewing coffee grounds in those little single serving bags. The only down side to a press is having to dig out the used coffee grounds afterwards. Maybe that instruction assumes you buy whole bean coffee and grind it yourself.

If you drink more than one cup or use a larger than average mug, you'll want to go with one of the bigger presses instead. The bottom line is that this makes a great cup of coffee. This is a great little coffee press. Not a good idea, unless you like extremely weak coffee.I've been using this for several weeks now, and I've not had a single coffee ground get by the filter. When cleaning the filter I sometimes have to use a toothpick to scrape around the side, but that's no big deal.

I usually love lots of cream with my coffee, but this requires no cream for me since, once again, it tastes more like espresso and not regular coffee. It's easy to clean, but here's where a "little issue" comes in. It makes coffee that tastes more like espresso, so it's difficult to drink too much of it, which is why I can easily share it with another person. I am going to contact the manufacturer to see what can be done. I love the coffee made in my new french press. It's perfectly sized for my work coffee habit. The mesh filter has little thin wires sticking out and every time I was it (which is daily) I cut myself.
